Councilman Joe Buscaino will be honoring San Pedro prodigy Misty Copeland by naming 13th and Pacific Ave., Misty Copeland Square. Misty got her start at the San Pedro City Ballet and went on to become the first African-American female lead in the 75-year history of the American Ballet Theater. This year she was also named Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. Misty will attend this naming and the public is invited. The ceremony will include a performance by the current students of the San Pedro City Ballet. Misty will be in town to teach a Master Class at the Warner Grand Theatre as a fundraiser for the San Pedro City Ballet: [hidden] Please consider contributing.
