Modern dance is an approachable dance form that emphasizes breathe and flow, integrated body, and centering. We will stretch and strengthen the body through expressive movement. The class will start with a warm-up and introduction to technique, move into guided improvisation and finish with a short choreography that brings all elements together. No prior dance experience needed.
This will be presented in a 6-week format on Wednesdays at 5:30p in our Davenport location (this class will NOT be heated).
Cost is $90 for all 6-weeks (which is strongly encouraged), or drop-ins are allowed for $15 (so long as space is available...there is a max number we can hold, so priority will go to those who've signed up for all 6 weeks).
Instructed by Nikki Jones:
Nikki Jones is a QC native who has been dancing and performing in some capacity for most of her 29 years. During her 4 years as a company member of the Southern Illinois Repertory Dance Theatre, she had the opportunity to study various methods of modern dance and take master classes with world renowned modern dance companies. This shaped the direction of her dance practice and she continues to explore styles that emphasize wellness, expression, and communication between dancers. She is passionate about sharing the benefits and joys of dance with all who will watch or learn.
