The Depth of Sound
workshop with SuperKate
SuperKate engineers sound for her personal performances, troupes, as well as movies and several TV shows such as Robot Chicken and Metalocalypse. She's known for creating interesting soundscapes for her performances, utilizing a variety of sources.
In this workshop, you'll experiment with a variety of sounds, as well as discover how important your audio choices are to your performance. Can one song encapsulate the emotion of your piece? What sounds from everyday life can be incorporated enhance your piece?
This workshop will be part lecture and part exercise. The exercises will focus on the interpretation of sounds and how nuanced they can be.
