It’s a great way to improve your overall physical fitness as it gently tones and firms all major muscle groups, especially upper arms, upper back, hips, glutes and thighs. It involves flowing but controlled body movements as well as abdominal undulations, hip isolations, rotations, and shimmies. You will improve your balance, as well as learn to isolate different muscle groups creating controlled sensual dance movements. ~Belly Basics “technique” Level 1 Sundays 3-4pm or Tuesdays 5:30pm or Wednesdays 5:30pm LIMITED SPACE. NO MORE THAN 10 PER CLASS. ~Belly Basics “technique” Level 2 (Soraya must approve your participation) Sundays 5:45pm ~Choreography (Level 1 and level 2 will enjoy this Choreo) (Ghaltana) Tuesdays 6:45pm ~Choreography (level 2) (Shik Shak Shok) Sundays 4:30 pm ~Drum Solo (Shoufou Ya Naas by Emad Sayyah) Tuesdays 8pm ~Specialty class: Performance, troupe prep, beginner improvisation, ethics, American belly dance history and choreography. (This class will involve some dancing but mostly be focused on specialized topics) Sunday (7:00pm) Dancewear- Students dress in comfortable pants or skirts and fitted shirts, tank tops, crop tops, or sports bras. Students can dance barefoot or purchase dance shoes. A scarf to tie around the hips is important for the instructor to see hip movements. Instructor provides hip scarves to borrow or purchase. Your current size, fitness level, gender or age is not a concern. Everyone is welcome and accepted as dancers. Each session is 8 weeks long. You come once per week. Should I have to cancel a class for any reason the session will be lengthened by a week or given a makeup class in order to make it up. $80 per 8 week session when paid in full. $15 drop-in $95 10 class punch card (each individual gets a list of classes they can use them at based on skill level!)
