TuMM’s weekly class is intended for advanced level dancers who wish to dive inside and find a technique that comes from an internal place. This class is a place to expand your body’s intelligence, strength and expressive tools. We aim to connect our whole selves to our movement and develop an honest technique that is as much about excellence and clarity as it is about intentional communication.
Class draws from release technique, classical modern dance, improvisation, and various somatic practices. We combine technique, interior awareness, and specific movement qualities in floor work and standing phrases and focus on uniting technical skill with the internal attitudes and motivations that make movement come alive.
* The 4th Wednesday of each month will be devoted to Contact Improv practice (CI) and is open to movers with CI experience. Newcomers to CI should attend Contact Improv with Instruction on the 3rd Friday of each month.
Who: Dancers with Advanced level Modern Dance technique
Bring: Comfortable dance clothes, layers, cotton socks.
When: Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 pm
Where: FlyLoft, studio 3, 117 North Boston

* * We provide this class on a donation basis. Pay what you can, or just come take class and be a part of our community. Thanks to the generous support from the FlyLoft and the Tulsa Community Foundation, all donations will support future community dance opportunities from TuMM.
