Intro to Fire Belly Dance

Drawn to the flame, come dance with me, o elemental mistress!
My eyes, my heart drawn to your destructive and blessed fire,
Play slow and seductive, mysterious in shadow and light,
Or fast and furious your sound, rolling, turning
In your heat I feel the passion of life
Burning blazing with intensity, spurred to brightness
Then fading away, or quickly extinguished
Only to be reborn again...
Come play with the flames... no experience necessary. Learn how to play, safely, creatively, intuitively, experimentally. Bring whatever YOUR movement or dance background is into the dance, learn to incorporate fire into your vocabulary and just beyond the edge of your comfort zone.
We will work with Fire Palms, sets are $90 while they last, or rent our set for $15.
Space is limited. Bring a friend to the first class to learn fire safety at no extra charge.
Fridays, Jan 5, 12, & 26, 6 - 7pm
