learning hip-hop dance in the gallery
the wonderful folks of pushed learning and media join us for the afternoon! learn from award winning hip-hop dancer oliver ‘sydesho’ arias, who currently teaches hip-hop dance choreography at brown university. work on the fundamentals of a variety of hip-hop dance forms, including breakdancing, popping, and locking. this event is free but we recommend registering to reserve a spot. (ages 13 and older recommended.)
pushed learning and media performance and talks focus mainly on identifying the forms and impacts of present-day segregation, oppression, and bias in forging modern American communities, and how various media impact perceptions of race in already segregated or racially homogeneous settings.
