At the time of this posting, there are just a few spots left. Perfect for new dancers and beginners. No partner needed. Beginning Salsa (LA/local style) is a great introduction to the LA Latin Dance scene. LA Style is one of about a dozen types of Salsa but is predominant in North America and Europe, and every Latin dancer in LA should know this style. Co-hosted by the City of Santa Clarita- sign up online through the "Santa Clarita Seasons" website. Pay through the City online. We will make it easy! Just count to 8 and march to the beat to get started. This intro class is for those new to Salsa. The intro course is 3 Weeks in duration. The cost (paid to the City) is $35. Great for dancers new to salsa- the course will teach the LA Salsa Basic Step, Right Turn, Cross-Body Lead, Cuddle, and maybe more: everything you need to know to move towards the Intermediate category. This dance course develops steps and simple patterns for partner dancing- and is the first part of your prep for performing or for that wedding dance or cruise ship vacation. This is purely a partner dance, but for class, no partner is required. We use partner rotation to expand experience and skill techniques, but couples who do not wish to rotate may stay together. Flat-soled, non-textured bottomed shoes are helpful but don't go buy dance shoes for this casual and relaxed style. Even experienced dancers of other genres (Casino, Cumbia, Bachata, etc.) may need a beginner salsa course to progress into a more advanced level of Salsa. Many dancers can make serious progress toward the intermediate level. You are always welcome to take this course twice to nail down those fundamentals.
