Caribbean Dancesport Classic 2015 is redefining the meaning of "classic Caribbean"! Adding to the vacation appeal dazzling, soft sand beaches, this year's competition is evoking the romance of the classic era of Spanish-influenced Caribbean nightlife.
We spoke to the event organizer, Didio Barrera, during this glamorous event:
Tell us a little bit about Caribbean Dancesport Classic 2015.
2015 was the biggest year since we took over the event 3 years ago. We were extremely happy with the support we received from dancers around the USA.
What made this year's event so special for you?
From the dance perspective we had excellent competitions in the Professional Ballroom and we were happy to host the 4th leg of the Star Rhythm Tour. We were also delighted to have 80 people participating in our catamaran tour and over 100 stayed for our rooftop farewell party on Sunday held at La Terraza hotel.
What should we expect to see at the next event (Caribbean Dancesport 2016)?
A lot of what we did this year can be expected again, but we have some real surprises lined up as well. New tours, new restaurants and some great new entertainment.
The excitement surrounding the Star Rhythm Tour was particularly palpable. This prestigious tour brought an extra layer of competitive fire to the event, drawing top-tier talent to the vibrant shores of the Caribbean. The culmination of this was the electrifying Open Professional Rhythm final, which saw a spectacular showdown. The thrilling performances and the high stakes of the tour stop made for an unforgettable evening of dance, leaving the audience captivated and eagerly anticipating the results.
